Bob Harris, P.E., is the Associate Hospital Director for Facilities Planning and Operations for the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health System (UMHS), a traditional US News Week Top 25 hospital consisting of 1,000 Med Surg beds and over $3.0 billion in annual revenue. In this role he has corporate oversight for all aspects of Facilities, Linen Services, Safety Management Services and Joint Commission accreditation for Environment of Care, Master Planning, Environmental Stewardship and Space management.

Bob has over 33 years of progressive management and corporate experience in Consulting Engineering and Facilities Management with an emphasis on healthcare. Joining UMHS over 10 years ago, he has progressively advanced in prominent leadership roles focusing on the Support Service and Facility sectors.

Prior to joining UMHHS, Bob was Vice President, Principal and Director of Engineering for ALNM Inc. in Ann Arbor, Michigan, now a part of Stantec Consulting, one of the top 20 largest engineering firms in the world.

Bob is a mechanical engineering graduate from San Diego State University’s School of Engineering where he co-authored Thermal Energy Storage Commissioning Guidelines published for San Diego Gas and Electric and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Michigan and California as well as a Licensed Builder in the State of Michigan.
