Jim Mladucky joined Indiana University Health in April, 2016 as Vice President of Design and Construction, bringing over 30 years of health care planning, design and construction experience to the role. As Indiana’s most comprehensive healthcare system, IU Health is comprised of hospitals, physicians and allied services dedicated to providing preeminent care throughout Indiana and beyond. In this position, Jim is directing the planning, design and construction of IU Health’s $1.34 billon Strategic Facility Program, which is expected to transform care delivery for the residents of Indiana.

Jim comes to IU Health from Northwestern Medicine in Chicago, where he oversaw a capital project portfolio averaging $1 billion annually. Most notability, Jim led the planning, development and construction of the Northwestern Medicine’s 25 story, 1 million square foot Lavin Family Pavilion on the Chicago campus, the planning and construction of the Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital Replacement Project, and the campus master plans for the three Northwestern Medicine Western Region Hospitals. Prior to Northwestern Medicine, Jim was a principle at OWPP/Cannon Design and Perkins & Will, both health care focused architectural firms in Chicago. He has led work for the University of Michigan Health System, Virginia Commonwealth University Health System MCV Campus, Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin, OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Children’s Hospital of Illinois, University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, University of Wisconsin Hospital & Clinics and St James Hospital – Olympia Fields. Preceding his time in Chicago, Jim was with Space Diagnostics – KSA, where we supported the strategic facility master planning for Partners, Lifespan and Columbia –St Mary’s. Jim’s practice philosophy centers on collaboration. He vows to plan, design and build facilities that enhance the patient experience, provides safe, efficient and innovative facilities, and solve IU Health business challenges.
